Wirral Arts Festival presents:
The Merseysippi Jazz Band
Saturday 29th September
8pm

Welcome to an evening of jazz!
First established in February 1949, the band is probably the oldest in the UK to still be playing regularly. We are strong believers that our music should entertain and this has always been band policy, whether home or abroad, Southport or Sacremento. The music varies from New Orleans, via San Francisco to the U.K.
Over the years the band has met and played with a great number of jazz stars, including Louis Armstrong, many of whom have become good friends.
The current personnel are John Higham – trumpet; Peter Fryer – trombone; Dave Dixson – reeds; Malcolm Hogarth – piano; Dave Rigby – guitar/banjo; Isabel Toner – bass; Pete Darwin – drums.
Tickets available from Linghams Book Shop and band members.
