History
Early
records of Heswall F.C. are a little obscure but it is documented
that their first game was played in 1891, Heswall losing 13-1.
Things could only get better.
Heswall joined the West Cheshire league just before the 1st World War, playing at Puddeydale, but it wasn’t until the 1930’s that Heswall started to make their mark.
In what proved to be a purple patch for the club, Heswall took three
consecutive Division 1 Championships, as well as two Pyke cups, five
Wirral Amateur cups, the Wirral Senior cup and the coveted Cheshire
Amateur cup.
In 1971, after a brief spell playing at Irby, Heswall moved to their present ground, 'Gayton Park'. Where they have had continued success on and off the pitch, building a fine clubhouse and gathering trophies such as Division One Championship, Cheshire Amateur Cup, Pyke Cup, Wirral Amateur Cup, Division Two Championship, and the West Cheshire Bowl.
