Tributes to a ‘true gentleman’

Hes CogleyTRIBUTES have poured in for Heswall man Tim Cogley who was found dead on Rocky Lane on Sunday 9th April.

Mr Cogley was a popular man with people describing him as a ‘true gentleman’ and the ‘nicest guy around’.

He was found at around 7.40am on Rocky Lane and taken to hospital but was pronounced dead just over an hour later.

Police initially cordoned off the area after initial reports suggested that Mr Cogley’s death may have been ‘suspicious. However, Merseyside Police confirmed that foul play is not suspected: “Initial reports of this incident indicated that the man had suffered serious injuries.

“However, the post mortem has since confirmed that there were no serious injuries or evidence found of an assault having taken place.”

It is believed that Mr Cogley, who was in his thirties, spent the day before he died with friends watching Caldy Rugby Club. But the circumstances surrounding his death are still not clear at the time of going to press.

Dozens of people left messages on his Facebook page with many emotional tributes from family and friends in the town.
